1981 – Oakwood Engineering is formed.
20th May 1981
In 1981 Oakwood Engineering started up as a steel detailing drawing office. Pen and paper, shirt and tie!

3rd July 1981
One of Oakwood’s first major detailing jobs was the regeneration of the GMex Centre in Manchester.
Oakwood go Digital with XSteel
17th March 1988
In 1988 Oakwood upgraded from drawing boards to computers using Tekla software XSteel. Technology has come on a bit since then!
International Projects
15th October 1993
Oakwood become a truly global company, completing prestigious projects around the globe. These included The Yangtze Electric Pylons, at the time the tallest in the world, The Tokyo Conference Centre, The Rion Antirion Bridge in Greece and the Bayonne Bridge in New York City.
